Founded in the 1960s by Georges Brunet, formerly of Bordeaux's Château La Lagune, Vignelaure pioneered serious Cabernet-Sauvignon-based reds in Provence.
It became known as "the Lafite of Provence", famous for both its wine and its art collection.
