Jacob Beam sold his first barrel in 1795, and his family has run the business through seven generations — including Booker Noe, the barrel-chested master distiller who invented the small-batch category with Booker's and Knob Creek. From Clermont, Kentucky, Beam ships more bourbon than anyone on earth, yet the family releases still taste like a craftsman's house: nutty, corn-sweet whiskey with the famous 'Beam funk' of roasted peanuts and vanilla.
