France's favourite single malt, double-cask to its core
At the meeting of the Lour burn and the Spey, Aberlour built its reputation on double maturation — bourbon and sherry casks married into a plump, apricot-and-toffee malt that France adopted as its own (it outsells most Scotch brands there). The cask-strength A'bunadh, drawn entirely from oloroso butts and released in numbered batches, became one of whisky's first cult sherry bombs and remains the house's calling card.
Plump sherried fruit — apricot, toffee and gentle spice.
