Islay's newest still-house, born of a bottling dynasty
Opened in 2018 by Hunter Laing, a family of veteran independent bottlers, Ardnahoe sits high above the Sound of Islay with perhaps the best still-house view in Scotland. It runs the longest lyne arms on the island for a slow, delicate spirit, and its first releases — peated in the classic Islay register but notably fruity — suggest a distillery that learned from a century of bottling everyone else's whisky before making its own.
