Talisker

'Made by the sea' is marketing, but at Talisker it is also simply true: the stills sit on the shore of Loch Harport beneath the Cuillin hills, and the whisky tastes of the location — black pepper, oyster brine and a distinctive sulphury smoke from worm-tub condensers. Skye's oldest distillery was Robert Louis Stevenson's 'king o' drinks', and its 10-year-old remains one of the most complete arguments for island whisky.
